Well, the "out of focus" caused by the shadow effect. here's a new one with out shadows and with a gray gradient background. the previous was without background but with shadow "PNG File".
PS: I don't have the same font, what i did is making a selection for the current logo and used the layer to make this thing, that's why it looks a bit not smooth.
Edit: With a further playing around with photoshop, i made this blue one. i think its much cooler than the red one.

I think the red one looks 100% better but as you said the font seems to have ragged edges that could be made smoother.

As this seems to be carrying on then I asked the nurse and they've given me some sharp crayons .... but the won't leave me alone with them ... and they taste funny. .....
