"The only Americans who see any benefit are CEOs and execs"? Have you bought anything in the last ten years? Yes? Ok, then you've benefited as well. They outsourced to reduce cost and thus price in order to sell more units of product.
I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that we're "behind" in physical goods. I also don't think we're behind, I think we went through our phase of physical goods, and have progressed past it to being a primarily service based economy.
The only thing that can come out of American companies being forced to have all products made in the US (as it seems Switters would like) is pathetically overpriced goods, as we see in GM. American blue collar workers tend to think they deserve more money than they do, and also tend to be unionized, so we have people being paid $30 to install spark plug #5 all day, every day. Spread that type of overcompensation across an entire vehicle and you get something like a Chevrolet Suburban costing $41,000 for the base model.

I never said anything about a "steriods list."
Mark and Barry were apart of an exclusive club of the best players in country: MLB.
Enron and Worldcom were apart of an exclusive club of the best companies in the contry: Fortune 500.
Since you want to bring up steroids, look at Enron and Worldcom as using steriods. This would be considered cheating so they lose out and get kicked out of their club.
I seem to see a direct relation between the two.
And look at GM as a player with a crippling virus, leeching all of its energy and productive effort: the UAW.

just as being in the MLB doesnt garuntee the uses are steroid free, but means that you are good. the fact that you have to be good is undeniable.
being in the fortune 500 doesnt garuntee that you are an efficient company. it means that furtune magazine percieves you as good. but the fact that you have to be good is quite deniable and I have already listed the three biggest examples.

you type revolution on a computer using technology invented by americans posting on a forum on the internet, which was invented by americans. hate on america all you want but the fact of the matter is that the world would not be as advanced as it is without america. and american companies are not the only ones with problems, the ethics of many chinese companies is deplorable (the fact that they think copying other peoples designs and work is ok) all countries have at least a few bad eggs, you just choose to ignore those of anyone that isnt american.
and i agree there needs to be a revolution, but a fiscally conservative one, not the commie nonsense your thinking of.

I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.
...when i read american comments about Russia, it's seems like guys pressing "Ctrl+C" and "Ctrl+V" buttons.
First, guys, i want to say that world economical crysis don't touch socialistc countries, like China. So, maybe socialism working better? (...but socialism (communism, nazionalism and etc.) is terrible shit, i have seen this by myself).
Second, Russia and China can't be friends, allies, or something else - we are enemies, who became some kind of partners...
Third, why Russia need nuclear weapons? Because we have big territory and today our military force is not so good. We can't protect our land without that stuff. If we haven't some kind of nuclear weapons, then part of our country became, for example, part of the China Peoples Republic.
...
P.S. Guys, Russia is Russia, country that have pluses and minuses like others. Maybe you need to look at us from other side? I hope you understand my vision of this problem. And i want that culture, cars or something else makes bridge between us.
I wouldn't call the loss of 20 million jobs 'business as usual'. China obviously depends heavily on exports, and when those foreign countries stop buying product it is going to have an effect, even on China.
