Nice use of petrochemicals. Who's he giving the bird to?

A nice December (2010) sunset...

Congrats on being one of the few that actually got that. I cut the sticker into three pieces to fit it on the drawers.
Work is awesome Kitdy. Just moved out of the race shop into the body shop, but I'll still be doing the race stuff during the season. Doing a complete paint job on a Lotus 7 and the nose of a '59 Corvette. I have an Austin Healy 100/4 complete and a crashed 914 race car coming my way soon.
And another sunset pic, the view from my beach.

Nothing like crazed folk with checkbooks racing old cars to ensure job security, eh Johnny? Nice beach, too.
Ours is mainly mangrove where developers haven't seawalled, but the flats are full of fish and birds. This is south of our house.

Some shots from the 105mm Micro Nikkor.
The VR works wonders.
Thanks, it's incredibly dreamy bokeh. I haven't done any portraiture with the lens- it's too long to use indoors, but I would imagine it's wonderful.
I'm waiting for school to end so I can be reunited with it again so I can shoot bugs and stuff with it around the garden. I can't trust leaving my gear in my room while I'm at class.
Really nice. For standard focal length lenses (on film) the method is tight focus and wide aperature, i.e. minimized depth of field. I used to shoot with either Leica rangefinders or a trusty Nikon F with stock 50mm lenses, which naturally give the effect when close focusing in available light. Is the principle the same for digital cameras? That is, do you manually set aperature & shutter speed to achieve it?
