I put that car on "My Top Three Convertibles That I'd Actually Drive" list.
The brown is pretty nice too. Brown looks excellent on a Buick Enclave though!

most german cars r now appearing in that chocolaty brown color...its really nice..but does not suit a supercar like the r8 spyder
im really not into the new style of audis spyders...they r peeling off the side pillars from their original coupes like they did with a pervious cabroilet audi( forgot its model) and now with this magnificent r8 ! why!

Car for high-profile prostitutes; all Audi's are.
I think the brown is nice in general, but the interior color is key, otherwise the whole thing's ruined...although, I don't think it's the best color for this particular car. It takes away from its intended performance prowess and makes it look like a luxury cruiser.

I'm sorry if I offend. The first thing that comes to mind when somebody mentions Germany of the '30s is National Socialism. Perhaps it would be smart for me to not write and post the first thought that pops into my head, but my brain did tell me that there was a connection between Germany, brown, and the '30s. I was not implying in any way that everything German is intrinsically linked to Nazism, it just so happen that '30s Germany irrefutably is. Again, I'm sorry if I offended any of you, I hope I didn't.
What was the connection that you were alluding to? The Silver Arrows of the '30s also come to mind, but they, to the best of my knowledge, were silver.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
The AWD is like 90% RWD under normal circumstances - so it drives like a RWD car typically. RWD purists cry foul (are you one?) but AWD has worked pretty well for Nissan and as quattro is Audi's thing, it was almost a no-brainer to put it on their flagship.
I'd say a Lambo is more trendy than this. It may be trendy as you say it is (then what do you think of the 458 or Gallardo - it's direct and more trendy competition?) but I wouldn't dock it points just because of the people that drive it or because of the attention it attracts.
I wouldn't say I'm a RWD purist. I just don't like seeing something passed as a "GT" or sports car having AWD. It's (AWD) perfectly fine in something like the 959, Impreza, and Quattro, but those were rally cars. Audi, today, seems to be in the business of sports cars and I think in order to 100% satisfy that they need a RWD flagship car.
I would agree that Lamborghini is on top of the totem pole in regards to trendy-ness. The Gallardo is not an awesome vehicle in my book; more trendy than substantive. I simply love talking to Gallardo owners and asking them all these technical questions about their own car that they can't even answer; they are on par with E90/92 owners. In regards to the 458, too early to say.
