Well it's the same in America isn't it. The whole "America is the greatest country on Earth!" thing, with the thick southern accent. It just sort of makes you want to club them over the head and tell them they've got some major issues to get fixed first.

They're much more vocal and out there, i think a true patriotic Australian is the one that doesn't need to be so out there and open, more it's in you the pride and passion, you don't need to grab a kangaroo and hump it for loyalty.

Since Australian is one/is the best country to live in, I guess we have living proof here on UCP! Australians seem to be the happiest, most randomness people here. And that is in a good way. You Aussies seem to make it better on here.
