poor skyline
wow! i just realised...how has kitkat got so much rep from so little posts?
Why would they do that? I'm sure that a lot of people would pay a lot of money for that skyline even though it was a bit damaged (See first pic)... or that lot of money would be only paid anywhere but Japan?
I mean what's the reason for destroying a car that's just a bit damaged?
Anybody knows?
Thanks
I guess he wanted it in bayside blue
It doesnt take much for a car to be a write off...i have a work mate who had a car that was about 2mm to bent in (no chassis damage) and his car was considerd a write off...Originally Posted by Niko_Fx
Boo - hoo!
Its only a car, its not even a GT-R!
Why not destroy it?
Thanks for all the fish
Thanks Falcon, but still it doesn't make much sense to me.Originally Posted by Falcon500

Wellin some cases rebirthed cars get pinched and this is their final resting place....good lesson to get insuranceOriginally Posted by Niko_Fx
While it isnt a GT-R, i am not as depressed, but hey, i would have taken it
To Some, a rusted out 1989 GMC Suburban* is trash
But to Me, its home
That's why insurance company do what they did...Originally Posted by Niko_Fx
See, from their stand point, if they have to pay for a certain amount of money to fix the car, but WHEN they can just write it off for a little more THEN sell the car to parts dealers (they own the car then), they'll be saving more.
For example:
fix the car = $10000.00
write off and pay the owner = $13000.00
sell the car to parts dealer = $5000.00
They (insurance company) in turn saved $2000.00

I thikn we should take a moment of silence for this poor..helpless skyline...................... Damn those bastards!!!
If they had only brought it over to North America, I'm sure some rich fanboy would've paid at least $20,000 for it
I read somewhere lse about this same thing actually.it was supposedly a test Skyline and it was cheaper for Nissan to have it destroyed than inported back to Japan or something like that.
Oh god... i can't look.. i can't stand it... its evil to do something like that... NOOO~~~
I'm not sure about you guys and i'm not sure about a non GTR, but a GTR at where i live (second hand, but quite new, few thousand on the meter only) cost nearly USD100,000. R33 cost USD40,000
i can't look~
