    What? No he didn't! When he was younger he developed the electric four wheel drvie Lohner Porsche with Lohner, an electrician friend. It had an independent motor for each wheel.

    I have no idea what makes you think he made his first car in 1940. Might I add that he also produced a little car called THE VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE in the '30's when he collaborated for 20 years with a guy named HITLER. He DID NOT make his first car in 1940-he made his first car in 1898-he DIED in 1952!

    1898 Lohner Porsche Type 1

    1901 Lohner Porsche Type 2 (with 4 wheel drive)
