the 3 valve 5.4 was designed for truck use (probably why its got a 100m stroke) and yet ford oz shoved it in the falcon

It will be ok until some ****wad politician who fears he may lose his seat wants to take the easy way out and appeal to the bleeding hearts. Luckily goverments these days are aware of how important our car industries are. With Holden making such a noise about its exports the government would be loath to sabotage any developement. Nothings impossible though.

yeah the government might try invest in exporting more than 18000 fords or holdens to the us as a way to make a quick buck, and those yanks wont want executices or xt's, they may not even want the xr6

im surprised to hear u say that crisis, the american market would demand the falcon to be lighter than what it was in au though for something of that performance calibre, especially if what they only saw was the xr's and fpv

I would be surprised if Ford US had a rear wheel drive sedan of that calibre. I dont know. But if Chev fans over there wank themselves over Monte Carlos etc, the XR6 would be something special.

the only ford us rwd sedan left is the crown victoria which i dont think is gunna live past another update. its got either a 230hp or 240hp sohc 4.6 and is what the cops there and taxis use. the standard falcon could almost blow them off, if it wasnt for its extra 100 or so kg's, but the falcons start at 240hp and finish at 390hp

if ur a die hard oz ford fan the sprint means alot. the american falcon sprint influenced the oz falcon police special, which was what ford got the idea for the original xr falcon gt from. yeah if the closest thing to the falcon in ford americans linup's highest power output is where the falcon starts there should be no threat (crown victoria-4.6L 240hp, falcon barra182-240hp)

yeah well chat rooms is where u have to start. bob lutz swears black and blue that even pontiac enthusiasts are warming to the new gto, whereas a look in any forum about the car shows ppl think its a pile of shit that doesnt deserve the pontiac gto badge
