    Need some help deleting a virus/trojan !!!

My computer has been running really badly over the last few days, so I figured I'd let Norton Anti-Virus do a complete system scan ( I keep it on in the background anyways), after over 2 hrs it says there are no corrupt files.

I don't believe it, so I head over to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ an online, scan for free anti-virus program. after another hour+, it says I do have a virus/trojan(whatever) and calls it TROJ DLOADER.F but it can't clean or delete it.

I head over to http://securityresponse.symantec.com...r/vinfodb.html, who make Norton AntiVirus, but after several searches I come up with no removal tool or advice on how to ditch this problem.

I'd appreciate any help at all, I won't give rep points , or cash (can't go through the wife), but I will do my best to hook you up with Egg Nog's sister's phone # (j/k Shawn ) .... seriously tho, I would be extremely grateful for any help at all.

    - Dave

It could be a new virus that might take time for symantec to have a update for.
What year is your norton anti virus ? And is it fully updated with the Virus difinitions ?

That procedure kinda confusing. Follow these steps:

-Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
-Click on the Process Tab and check the System Restore box to turn it off.
    -Run your anti-virus program.
-When your computer locates the trojan, you will be able to delete it.
-Un-check the system restore box, and run your anti virus again for a double check.

    Stop looking at porno...

do you only have norton, if so, you should also have something that sepcilaises in spyware like 'ad-aware 6.0' or 'spybot-search and destroy' (i have both)

and 'Bazooka' is good for finding spyware, although it cant remove them itself

    hope that helps

[edit]-malware is a type of spyware too, so its not a virus-trojan downloaders just download viruses to your computer-they are spyware-not too confusing?

best thing you can do is download adaware or spybot search and destroy like foto said, should clear it up. if not you'll have to go in a little deeper

Try restarting your computer and then trying to delete that file again...

Will do ... first thing when I get up its 4:45 a.m. and I've been battling this thing for almost 5 hours, good news is that it isn't running ... I'll take that for now.

I will try to get another anti virus, anti spyware or firewall in place in the (very) near future.

    Thanx again to you all

Follow my procedure, thats the only way to delete the registery. Spyware detectors arent a good choice for removing this trojan. It attaches it self to the anti virus program sometimes so it wont work, and then downloads files from the computer which harm your computer.

No need to format, thanx to the excellent people on UCP I'm clean, I had a bit of trouble deleting the executable program, but after restarting with system restore turned off everything is good again.
