The funny thing is that Car and Driver's sister magazine Road & Track, carried out a very similar test in their september 2003 issue. They had the XLR, XK8, SC 430, Maserati Spyder GT, SL500 and the 911 Carrera Cabriolet.
Their results came out as follows:
5 tie) SC 430
5 tie) Maserati Spyder
4) SL 500
3) Jaguar
2) Cadillac
1) 911
These results are quite different than those of car and driver who i think chose the SL as their winner, which i think is a better choice.
Whats worth mentioning is that in Road & Track's results BEFORE including the cars' prices, the SL came in second after the 911. The mercedes's price is the highest of the 6 cars tested, which is the usual point of criticism in most car magazine reviews.

your father died?
can some1 post a pic of a caddie XLR? plz
I think the SC 430 is underrated, its a great car, and reliability of it is very high due to its toyota roots. Its got great looks too, and its got quite a modest price at around $60,000.
Puff Daddy says his Ferrari 360 Spider can go 220 because the speedo says so

Go the Benz!
and its a hard compete:SL500 vs Carrera4 cabrio
I really do fancy the Carrera 4 cabrio. I think that their exoticnss and power outstrips the Benz
I actually prefer the Caddillac; it's a far more individual and intruiging prospect than the Merc, which is usually the default choice. And there's something slightly wrong with the 911's styling. Of course, the Jag is the most gorgeous one, but it's really too old now. However, if the Maserati Spyder was listed, I would surely have picked it.
