Well maybe he is smarter than we think. Maybe he just doesnt wanna deal with the constant headache of Italian motors and wants to build some crazy power out of a more reliable engine. What do you think of that one??

Well considering the reliability of a certain VERY powerful engine in the Ferrari stable, nobody else is matching it And some of them ( Ford ) can't even get NEAR it in power !!!

rotarys are probably the best for drag imo. really light weight and from what i know, very good power figures (from some rotarys).

about the ferrari part, there is a guy down here in australia that runs a BMW shell with a rotary. i think its an 8 second 1/4 mile.

The reliability, hmmm, well considering that Ferrari produce a great engine both the V8 in the 360 and the V12 in the 575 both very good engines. You do know that the 360 CS has the highest power to weight ratio of any production car on the face of the earth. Now as for reliablity, in F1 i see alot of blown BMW and Mercedes-Benz engines all over the grid, as far as I can remember Ferrari has not blown an engine in the last 2 or 3 years that to me is pretty good. Well think what you want if you want to be wrong.

Not true. Rotary engines, while compact, are not really lightweight. They are definately not the ideal engine for drag racing either, because of the relatively low torque figures. For drag racing, the best always seems to be the tried and true V8.

Do you mean the engine of the 360 CS has the highest power to weight ratio?
There are 30 odd cars with power to weight ratios greater than the 360CS

    /off topic

What exactly are these "very good power figures", with regards to rotaries?
I'd imagine it'd be much harder to extract big bhp and lb ft numbers from a rotary than a suitable V8.
    Thanks for all the fish

Id say coventrys right, while Rotaries do have their high points, one of their dissapointments is the absednce of good torque figures at low rpm. not ideal for a drag car unless you can put in a turbo set up to cover your low rpm levels, even then it not the ideal engine.

Of any car being built today, the engine has the highest power to weight ratio. I do not understand why you always have to clarify my posts, because you know that I know alot about Ferrari.

I don't "always" clarify your posts.
As far as I am aware, I corrected you on the fact that the Enzo wasn't the first car to use carbon ceramic brakes, and this thread, where I wasn't sure if you did mean the engine or the whole car.

Since you do know so much about Ferrari, perhaps you could tell me what size/ weight the engine from the 360CS is.
    Thanks for all the fish
