It's not as fragile has a BDA and it has a lot more torque than a racing engine while revving as much.

What gearing and axle are you wanting to use ?
There are many options for mating to get the right mix for track or stage.
Some are stronger ( but heavier ) than others.
A serach on UK web sites on zetec and escort will likely turn up an exmaple of each of the options If you're getting stuck drop me an PM. Guys in the kit car club usually know off the top of their heads the optiosn for mating the engine/box/axle for bets performance to meet your needs !!
