So this past weekend was DR-SCCA's annual post July 4th Solo, hosted at Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda, MI, about 3 hours north of Detroit.

The place was a B52 Bomber base, now its a site used to refurbish 747s. I've honestly never seen so many of them at one place. We are given access to their de-icing pad on the north end of the ground. Its a big rectangle concrete pad thats relatively smooth by DR standard.

This event is a 2 days autocross, and since the region has access to ProSolo style timing/starting xmas tree system, the Saturday of the event was a ProSolo style event. For those who don't know, ProSolo is an interesting variation of theme of autoX, mixing with drag racing. 2 cars starts side by side off a drag racing Xmas tree, running mirrored course. While at the end of the day it is still a combined time from left and right course that decides the result(out of 4 runs on each side of the course, best left + best right counts), the added element of starting off the tree adds some interesting twist and excitement.

This weekend also gave me a chance to shakedown my new camera body in a Sony A77 II. Shooting mainly with the Sony 70-400 F4-5.6 G
