There's no replacement for displacement.
I think that it might be the 1999 Ford Taurus sho that sounds like a small V8 and I havent heard of an V8 engine smaller than a 3.8 litre.
Sorry, this is out of the topic, I was just thinking about it and if the Viper's engine would be an 8, 6 or 4 cylinder it would be:
8 = 6.6L
6 = 5.0L
4 = 3.3L
Wow. Well, a 6.6L V-8 isn't that amazing, that's only about 403 cubic inches, so there's lots of V8's bigger than that. But a 5.0 V6 or 3.3 I4, that would be weird. The biggest 4-banger I ever heard of was the 3.0 they used to put in the Porsche 944. That's about as weird as the 1.6L V6 that Mazda used in the MX-3.Originally Posted by Niko_Fx
When you say "smallest" V8 do you mean displacement or physical size?

some old grand prix cars had 2 liter v-12 engines
The Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 has a 7.0L 8 Cylinder engine.
That's equal to a 8.75L 10 cylinder
5.25L 6 Cylinder
3.5L 4 Cylinder

The Mercedes Benz GP has a 15.0 L 4 Cylinder engine
6 = 22.5L
8 = 30L
10 = 37.5L
12 = 45L
It's a very old car, but still counts.
my dads 71 F250 has a 4.9L straight six
I am the Stig
Well ford made a 221 which would be about 3.4 or .5 odd liters and buick made a 215 and i think there might of even been smaller...i cant find any info on the Simpson Vadette Side valve engine....
I was talking about displacement, not physical size.
There's also the famous caddie V8 500 ci, which is about 8.28L
Catapillar has an inline 6 turbodisel that is about 11.1L It makes 365hp stock, and about 1350 lbs/feet of torque Check out this link for "Super Truck racing" http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/...ing/index.html
There's a lot of crazy industrial, construction, marine, military, and experimental engines out there. Check out the Abrams M1A2 Turbine!

Ummmmm The displacement of these engines is 221 and 215 the physical size of these engines is the same as anyother windsor block in the case of the 221 (this does not include the 351 which had a bigger deck height) and the 215 is made from the origonal tooling of what became the rover all alloy v8....So im talking about displacement im sorry to tell you...Originally Posted by HemiCuda500
