    California (along with New York) have the tougest emissions laws on the books, but enforcement as always is spotty. If you wanted to run without cats, it's actually fairly easy to get away with it.

    I would rather avoid it altogether. Get an emissions exempt car!! teehee...

    They arent that bad. But the GTO insurance is cheaper and the cars are cheap to buy with a LS1

    I like it! and i never knew the sohc 4.6s had that much potential i thought they where pretty much wiritten off mod wise we have the similar 5.4 motor in luxuary and base model v8 falcons and ive never heard of anyone modifying one.
    Lifts heavy things and hits hard......also eats as much as 2/3 people and sleeps 10 hours a day!

    yeah they have tons of potential...they have close to as many parts as 5.0's have for em...you can build them really powerfull if you have the money cuz their more expensive to mod than the 5.0. another good thing about em is the stock internals and blocks on them are way stronger than anything the 5.0 came with. 600 hp on stock cobra internals is an extremely common thing. same with the 5.4's theres plenty of mods out there for those too.
