Being a true fan of Survivorman/Man vs. Wild on Discovery Channel here, I'd have to say Fire. It's badass, necessary for survival, and crucial for consumption of food.
What? Don't be ridiculous. Fire, like water (floods, tidal waves) and earth (quakes, landslides), can destroy civilisation. Ever heard of volcanoes?!
Also, you don't need fire to eat fruit and veg off trees, and raw meat won't really kill you if you eat the right stuff- it's just a bit... chewy... and... bloody.
I'll pick water thanks. Always need a bit of water, and there's air in it somewhere...
