The 5.3 litre V8 has nothing to do with the current 4.3/4.7 litre version.
As for the V12 parts, they are AML sourced, but I suspect Cossie may have had some input to the DBR/RS9 and AMV12 Vantage engines. I have no proof of this, just comments made by someone that should know hinted toward that.

Its obviously not actually "joined together" with 2 Mondeo V6s, but it does share the basic design of the Mondeo block with the casting design and internal passages....saves a bunch of money and development time this way, probably helped them pitched it to the execs when it was first used in the DB7 Vantage....
