Although this is already not a practical patrol car, imagine trying to handle radio calls, look up title/liscense plate numbers, use radar, handle calls and what'not all while manually trying to change gears, It would be absolutly impossible. Also in emergency situations, I do NOT want to be suddenly suprised by some threat, drop the clutch as my BPM spike and inadvertantly stall the engine. It would leave you between a rock and a hardplace during a gunfight. Just some thoughts...

Crown Vics have no manual option.
also I think the fuzz use manuals in Europe b/c manuals are very much engrained in their psyche, so they wont do something like dropping th clutch when startled.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"

lol I've done that too.
My mom's car is an auto, but I usually drive my dad's manial. So, when I drive my mom's car, I always feel like my left leg should be doing someting.

So jealous of you guys, I have yet to learn manual. The issue is that we have enough cars in my family, and we really don't need to replace any of our cars.
Their are no guarantees when it comes to something like that. I have driven a manual for the last 4 years and my first reaction to when something jumps out at me is to push the clutch in while braking. Can you guarantee that such a mistake (such as a stall) would never happen? Simply no you cannot, would you be willing to risk your life on it? (mabey I worry because my speed6 clutch is touchy)
BTW I will not be driving a Crown Vic, I hate it so much, its like driving a bowl of jello down the road. Luckily will have my own Ford Explorer, (yes very economical), 2008 black and badass. So instead of jello or stalls, I get rollovers
