yeah you can give it a go. gotta treat the gearbox gentle at the moment, no synchro's. got enough torque to lug your ass around
mini is a go as well, bleed the brakes next weekend then buy tires.

car is running great. still get "what is it" questions from everybody, one guy asked if i'd put my AC cobra through the wash.
engine pic taken last night by the guys. also bonus shot when testing the car as a photography car, this was taken straight out the back - matyi loved the 360 degree field of vision. will definately try to take daytime rolling shots with it later.

Really sweet Spitfire, love the mods... good on ya Clutch! Killer engine and the best thing about one of these over a TR6 is the whole thing is displayed when the hood is lifted.

Looks stunning. Engine looks very tidy also.

BONUS ROUND
grabbed these because putting the car up on jacks is a pain in the ass. of course using these turned out to be terrifying, but whatever.
unibody? what unibody. wtf unibody, we don't want your unibody shit here. rail girders with fibreglass boats screwed into the top of it are fine, maaaaate.
sitting in my engine bay, topping up my oil.

nice clutch
I'd thought about these too as "cheap ramps" for home use too.
So what about the "terrifying" comment then , huh ?
Do they move when you're up there ?
Or was it just getting on them ??

easing the car up it is a bit nerve wracking at first but the main thing is when they tilt forward - it feels like they are going to pitch you through the back of the garage LOL.
also they shifted a foot backwards before i could get the rear wheels on them which wasn't fun.
i have a few solutions in mind as they are really handy. i don't think they will stay in the garage but rather be set somewhere outside, downslope this time so you drive onto them not up them so much.

minor update;
finally got around to painting the grille black, vast improvement.
also whiteballz has a sound clip of it somewhere, but he is being slack.
included for scale in the pic is a falcon and an RX-8..

If I see that second picture it reminds me of song which prominently asked the question: "Where did we go wrong"

I stopped at the lights today behind a new B-class Mercedes and was amazed at how big it was in relation to my '84 S-class, which was once the largest Benz car. You'd think the B-class would be a compact, right? Yet it's a minute 1.7" narrower than my tank
Modern cars are big indeed, and I'd say that the RX-8 isn't even one of the ones that suffer the most from this.
