Getting some engine parts now... got the Cam, Lifters, Springs and Tunnel Ram yesterday...
...Utah! Get me two...
This:
OK, it wasn't strictly my purchase, my wife bought it for me for Christmas. Great watch, the faceted shiny bits sparkle nicely and resemble diamonds from arm's length away, but look a bit cheesy up close. An extra $100 gets you real diamonds. Otherwise has good quality construction, is low-maintenance needing only gaskets every couple of years; the battery and factory lubrication are good for as long as 20 years. Also includes Citizen's hallmark and handy Eco-Drive movement. The built-in solar charger in the face actually looks like expensively machined dark anodized or powdercoated metal; bonus points are in order when form and function meet so perfectly. Has a good heft for a smallish fashion watch (37mm case), but isn't overwhelming like a Rolex; it's as big a watch as my smaller stature could get away with and still wears pretty lightly. One of my favourite features is what they call the "deployment clasp", it's visually appealing to see it in action, easy to take off and put on. The brushed-and-polished bracelet theme unites the looks of the whole watch while taking its bling factor down nicely. Generally very good fit and finish, obviously not up to Omega/Breitling/Tag/Rolex/Philippe Patek standards, but you'd probably never really notice in day-to-day use and certainly nobody around you would. Citizen's one of the best in the business, at this price point, in this regard. It's not a knockaround watch like a Submariner or a Speedmaster, but should wear well in day-to-day stuff. Only other downsides: largish links in the bracelet make it hard to size precisely. Also, it's merely water-resistant. Citizen brand is respected, a v. good middle-class timepiece with some unfortunate forays into boring department-store watches, and so lacks handbuilt Swiss cachet, and will probably never be collectible. Second hand is bizarrely misaligned, seems to pause exactly halfway between the marks it's supposed to hit. Overall a good day-to-day watch that dresses up or down, looks good, with Quartz accuracy and as mentioned practically never needs any maintenance. You might arguably be able to get better watches, but not much better value.

Nice nopassn.
A watch fan jcp? One of my buddies is a bit of a nut who wants to start a collection. He has a Speedy. I don't know of too many people who even know Patek exists.
I dabble in the knowledge of some fineries I probably would never be able to possess (pens are another area of study - got a better collection of those), and probably still wouldn't even if I could. A Rolex Submariner or equivalent is probably as fine a timepiece as I'd ever cough up the money for. Speedys are great pieces, and of course have the NASA cachet too. This is the first upmarket watch I've ever had. All the others have been a couple of Swatches, and, when I was a kid, a really cool black-and-yellow digital Casio (a ca. late 90's G-shock, IIRC)...not counting my Dad's sterling engraved pocketwatch, a great wind-up mechanical with very Victorian sensibilities - hardly a day-to-day piece
+1 on the speed parts

Just put a deposit on this:
And yes: It's a petrol 'six with a proper gearbox.
Sorry the photo is small - I'll take some larger ones once I've got it home, which should be Saturday if everything goes to plan.
