Hi and welcome to UCP. That's an impressive version. Did it come new to the USA?

Briljant machine! Ik knew that these Abarth OT 1300 were also sold in the US. These cars are very rare in Europe, so findig one in the US is the real needle in the haystack. Congrats on your briljant car, i would love toe see some pictures of the the car when the work is finished.
Mine also isn't flawless. Above the instrumentpanel there's a little crack and there is a bubble under the black toplayer...

@Henk: At the moment, there are three series 1 for sale in Holland on Marktplaats.nl. One is a restoration project, one looks like a showroom example and one in between...
I recently came across these two 850 Coupe ads below, posted for what interest it might be worth to our 850 afficondos
First one is a fresh resto and not cheap, or original Arbarth despite clever advert wordage
Second is a more everyday example and again priced a bit above what you'd hope for
(one AU$ = somewhere around 60 eurocents)
Over here (and I'm sure in Europe) there are specialists who can restore dashpads to virtually as-new condition and usually very close to original texture, depending on vehicle. Last time I checked the approx cost it was between AU$600 > $1,000, dependent on individual jobOriginally Posted by McReis
Hey ... I was searching on google for some 850 stuff and came across this thread. I know it's a bit old but I thought it would be worthy of bringing up.
I'm picking up a 1972 Fiat 850 Sport Coupe for $600 in Canada. The car is a restoration and I can't wait to get to it. These definitely are unique little cars.
Please pardon what's on the hood (bloody vandals). All pictures can be seen in Index of /cars/fiat850

Are a lot of parts from the 850 spider the same (Brakes, springs, shocks, engine stuff, etc.) ?
Yes, all the mechanical parts of your series 2 (903cc) 850 coupe are the same as the Spider with 903cc. Only the first series Spider and coupes had little differences in engine parts. BTW many parts of 850 saloons and even 600 models will fit.
Hello Geofux and welcome to the UCP. It's always nice to see fellow Fiat enthusiast here.
About your question, things aren't as straight forward as you'd expect. For example, there were several different types of engines available, depending on body style, year, market and so on (look here for a nice, techinically oriented FIat 850 site).
If you have more specific techical questions, send a PM to Eletinos or McReis. These two are far more competent about 850 than me, since my beloved Fiat is a tad more modern than yours.
And good luck with your restoration.
I first heard about the 843cc engine and the 903cc engine. After doing some more research I had found that in North America the first 850's had 817cc engines to pass emissions but later had the 903 put in instead of the 843. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Because it's the 903 I'm very happy.. much easier to get parts I need.
Another question.. is the front suspension leaf springs or coils?
Thanks henk4, elentinos and Revo
Edit - Also curious what types of fluids work best and/or are recommended for the car (and how much these cars take). Engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, etc.

Have you considered of getting an owners manual? Or a restoration manual?
Here are few pages from 1968 Owner Manual, source The Italian car website including Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia, Ferrari, Maserati and 52 other Marques
Yeah.. I just wasn't going to get around to it until after I had the car. Thanks.
