Stupid overpriced German car with a silly ride. That's the actual nickname of the latest A-Class.

    Really.

Any Subaru can be called "Scoobie" or "Subie". That's a fun one.

I have to say, credit where credit's due, the Americans are the best at naming cars.

I mean, who wouldn't want to have a Boss, an Eliminator, a Cyclone, a The Judge or a Wildcat?

Yes, but leave it to the Japanese to appropriate American names and take them to their logical confusion with a little insanity/'80s techno-optimism thrown in:
BUBBLE ERA EXCESS: 1984 Nissan Gloria Turbo Brougham VIP Super Selection II | Japanese Nostalgic Car

Who is the worst, though? My guess would be the Germans or the Swedes who are far too attached to their alphanumerics. The Italians (whisper it!) deserve a mention too with their "Monopostos" and "Quattroportes", though Ford had the Tudors and Fordors which add kitsch to their banality. The Italians seem to get away with it somehow, though.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"

As for Italians, well all words sounds always good in Italian, no matter what you are saying. That is a fact. Having established that, yes many Italian car names sound good, by the do not sound quite as menacing, imposing, charismatic or simply full bore awesome as American car names do.

    And I'll stand by that.

American cars are the best... at names, that is.

That Gloria is.. glorious. Staid sedan with turbo V6? Ridulous 80s era 'high-tech' interior? Yes and yes, sign me the heck up.
Life's too short to drive bad cars.

Curious, here the DS was nicknamed Tauró (Shark) and the Traction Avant was nicknamed Stromberg or Pato (Duck).

Since we had one in the family, it recently came up in a conversation and I asked why was it nicknamed Stromberg. Apparently it was because the carburettors were from Stromberg.
