    Corolla or Focus?

In S'pore, people say that Toyota Corolla is the better car, but I have my doubts, so I'm posting my question here. Is Ford Focus really inferior to the Corolla?

Id go with the Corolla. Good history, awesome sales, excellelent reliability, plus lots of aftermarket parts. Oh yeah, the corolla XRS, need I say more?

The Ford Focus is the best handling car in its class.
    The Corolla isn't.
    Thanks for all the fish

I'll go with Corolla. I'm bias. So don't count on my word... but toyota did beat ford for second place at the sales.

Ford is just not as famous as Toyota at Asean countries. Here in M'sia you can say 9 out of 10 Ford is the Ford Ranger series, and they still prefer Toyota Hilux over the ranger.

I'll go for the Corolla for reliability issues. If I remember correctly Ford had a recall on the Focus months ago for something (I forgot).

Yeah the Foucs looks Better but I think the Corolla is safer. A good friend of mine got hit broadside at 35 mph in a Focus and the whole frame bent and flexed. the car was a total loss

the no of toyotas where i live is very large. the majority are echos & corollas. the second most toyotas are land cruisers & camrys. focuses are very rare here because most people prefer toyota because of reliability, cheap spare parts, price. id go with toyotas coz i think the focus is ugly & overrated.

the corolla might be more reliable but it is boring. the SVT focus is pretty cool for a front driver.

Nope, European cars are some of the safest with the new NCAP tests.

The difference is that the car is DESIGNED to deform and absorb impacts and NOT transfer them to passengers. So it's actually SAFER
Toyota's share the same deisng goals so may be jsut as good.

These aren't tanks meant to survive head-ons and drive on. They're there to protect passengers ( and soon pedestrians ).

Total loss of a car doesn't make it less safe
