More MP4/21

A bit more.
it reminds me of the 1995 McLaren MP4/10, with the very square cockpit section behind the nose, and the long, tall engine cover.
Lets hope it isn't quite as bad as the MP4/10 on the track...
Sidepods seem to be virtually non-existant as well.
Thanks for all the fish
Nose looks a bit too skinny IMO, even skinnier than the MP4-19! But I suppose I'll get used to it. Looks pretty nice overall!
They're not really sidepods anymore, more like just a scoop.
Also these current F1 cars a re looking more like IRL cars I'm sorry to say.
I like all the rounds and the liquid look of the body work but those winglets stuck everywhere annoy me.
I think that it looks very nice.
To my eyes it has got a "bionic" look. Like a cyborg. lol
Why do they have the orange colour?
wow that's just about the most intricate looking bodywork ever....
Ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, UGLY! Wonder if they could hide it under a tarp during the race.
I like it, a lot. It seems like clear step apart from the M4/20. Also different from what others have shown (and the 06 Ferrari even has a McLaren"ish" front wing).
The skinny looks derives from the smaller engine, and is there to provide better aero, same with side pods(smaller engines require smaller radiators); even the air intake (above the helmet) is reduced. As for the winglets and the "duck" nose, let's hope its a case of design seeking function and not just looks.
A big question mark is on McLaren aero because of the departure of Adrian Newey, so heres hoping they keep their work up without him.

Zag when they Zig
^^ Yeah, the V8s are giving the cars that 'coke bottle' look back.
I don't think there's any question that it will be form following function! It looks good, the nose (aside from looking weird) is also extremely stubby - very, very short!

The bodywork these days looks almost as if it were shrink-wrapped over the inner parts.
Yeah, it's been going that way for a while - I think Ferrari started it really, with their 'shrink wrapped' gearbox.
Renault have been the main exponents more recently though
its a great looking car and will look better in the official paint job. Also i think they have a very unique rear wing.
If thats going to hurt them, my guess would be it'll affect them as the year goes on. You'd imagine he still had heavy input on the initial car.Originally Posted by magracer
