Yikes! The audio during slow-mo replay is what I imagine he was thinking. Glad he walked away.

That's too big a chance to take at not getting a fast time. These are won by 1/100ths of seconds. You dont push to the limit then you never have a chance to win. BIG downside is when do it 101% it CAN be expensive nad painful
Short shifting does make sure the back wont break as easily but it also means acceleration will be slower. It's why I love hillclimbs. You get one chance and every corner has to be flat out to win. Circuit racing seems easy and tame by comparison as there's always the next lap to make up the time

Was doing some testing at local clubs hillclimb and mounted the bullet cam as low as I could safely manage. I think it made for some footage that captures some of the buzz of a fast hillclimb.

Forresburn isn't that far away - about an hour's drive.
North is Fintray hillclimb - VERY short but challenging and scary in the trees.

THen there are sprint tracks which are fast but dont have the challenge of the hills.

Mate now rents Caterhams in the Highlands, so you have to give yourself a couple of days to drive up into the real highlands where the roads are awesome
