This weekend, we are at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari for the Imola Classic, which will be our final major event of the season. Organised by Peter Auto, it features most of the French company's major grids but also two rounds of the U2TC series for under two-litre touring cars. Among the cars on the grid is a highly genuine Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 GTA Corsa. These Corsa or competition versions of the GTA are the rarest of the bunch and were raced only by the works team or sold to private teams under the condition that they were raced by professional drivers. These cars featured even more powerful engines and a further lightened shell complete with an aluminium floor. The example entered for the Imola Classic is an ex-Autodelta team car and was raced by all of the works drivers. It is still raced with great success for the owner by master preparer Alexander Furiani and the hugely talented Frank Stipler.
After the weekend, you can expect a comprehensive report with an action-packed gallery of the Imola Classic!
