A few days ahead of the official launch at the Geneva Motor Show, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus have revealed more images and a some additional details of the SCG 003S (Stradale) and the SCG 003C (Competizione). Due to race in this year's Nurburgring 24 Hours, the competition car will be displayed in Geneva and has already been extensively tested. The road going 003S will be powered by a proprietary twin-turbo V6 engine and will be available to customers later in the year. Needless to say, we plan to be all over this striking machine at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
Also due to be launched at the Swiss show will be the second generation Audi R8. Only available with a V10 and automatic transmission, the range for now will be topped by the 610 hp R8 V10 plus. A GT3 competition version and an e-tron hybrid will also be available shortly.
Another GT3 car that will be revealed in Geneva is this Mercedes-AMG GT3. Additional images have been released today and also some technical details. The GT3 will not be powered by a version of the twin turbo V8 found in the road car but instead by the naturally aspirated, 6.3-litre V8 used in the car's predecessor, the SLS AMG GT3.
McLaren meanwhile have published further details and images of the upcoming 675LT. Short for Long Tail, the LT is a tribute to the F1 GTR Longtail raced in the 1997 FIA GT Championship. Only available as a Coupe, the 675LT is powered by a 675 hp V8 that has been modified so much that it has received its own designation.

The list of exciting cars due in Geneva next week is rapidly growing. The latest addition is one of the most spectacular yet; the 800+ bhp Aston Martin Vulcan. Developed by Aston Martin Racing and powered by a 7-litre V12 engine, the most powerful Aston Martin yet is created for use on the track only. The British manufacturer will produced just 24 examples of the Vulcan, so interested parties should move very quickly. Also due to be released in Geneva will be the Audi Prologue Avant Show Car and the Nissan Sway Concept. Another new car that broke cover this week was the Oreca 05 LMP2 racer due to race at Le Mans later this year.
Meanwhile an ambitious plan to revive the Jensen brand was revealed this morning. An all-new Interceptor is due in 2016, while the first new model will be this GT, which is loosely based on the SV-8 built over a decade ago.
While browsing through our archive, we came across this fabulous, Mille Miglia winning Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato Spider. Included in our updated article is the actual winner of the 1929 road race, which, as revealed in our 31-shot gallery has survived in highly original condition as it was cherished by its custodians virtually from new.
At the upcoming RM Sotheby's sale in Amelia Island a very well raced Jaguar D-Type is due to cross the block. The car on offer was raced extensively in Finland, often on ice-tracks while wearing studded tyres. It has had an eventful history like so many D-Types but all the original components have once again been reunited. Chassis XKD 530 is estimated to find a new owner for around $4 million!

Next month's inaugural Bonhams The Amelia Island Auction looks set to be headlined by a pair of classic American cars. The earliest is this Cord L-29 Murphy Town Car, which is from the estate of Jay Hyde, who owned the car for over 55 years. It is one of only very few L-29s that received custom coach-work and only one of as few as four of the revolutionary machines that were bodied by Murphy with this style. One was owned by Errett Lobban Cord himself and the other three by Hollywood actors. The featured example was first used by actress Dolores Del Rio. Having survived in very original condition, it has an estimate on request.
Whereas the L-29 was the first Cord, the DV-32, built around the same time, would turn out to be the last Stutz. Powered by twin-cam, four-valve per cylinder straight eight, it, arguably, was also the finest model produced by the American manufacturer. The range was topped by the Super Bearcat of which just ten were built. One of the rare survivors of this very short-wheelbase model will also be offered by Bonhams at Amelia Island. Still wearing the original Weymann body, which was partly constructed with fabric skins, it has been owned by some of America's most famous collectors. The DV-32 Super Bearcat is estimated to sell for over $850,000.
This weekend, the Circuito de Catalunya hosted the second of three official pre-season Formula 1 tests. While some of the other teams grabbed more attention, fastest of all was the Lotus E23 Hybrid Mercedes. Although these early tests may deceive, it does look like the Enstone-based team has turned a page after last year's disastrous season.

Yesterday, leading automotive auctioneer RM Auctions announced that Sotheby's had acquired a 25% stake in the Canadian company, which from now on will be known as RM Sotheby's. The first auction under the new banner will be the Amelia Island sale in less than a month. The cover car is one of just six Ferrari 400 Superamerica S1 Pininfarina Cabriolets. Built on the first series or short chassis 400 Superamerica, the car on offer has never been shown since its comprehensive restoration a few years ago. Strikingly finished in green with a red interior, chassis 1945SA has a pre-sale estimate of $6 - 7 million. A month later, a second example, chassis 3309SA will also cross the RM Sotheby's block as part of the Andrews Collection sale in Fort Worth, Texas.
Another beautiful machine to be offered at Amelia Island is one of the very rare Bugatti Type 57 C Aravis Cabriolets built by Gangloff. As was normal practice with the Type 57 standard bodies, the lines of the Aravis were penned by Jean Bugatti while the actual body was crafted by a specialist. Both Gangloff and Letourneur & Marchand created six examples each of the Aravis Cabriolet. Of the Gangloff-bodied cars just three are known to have survived and with two locked away in prominent collections, the sale of chassis 57710 represents a unique opportunity to acquire one.
Ahead of the official launch at the Geneva Motor Show, McLaren have released further details and images of the P1 GTR. The pictured example is liveried in the same Harrods colours as the F1 GTR, chassis 06R, which finished third overall and second in class in the 1995 Le Mans won by a sister car. As promised, the P1 GTR has a combined output of 1,000hp and boasts a sophisticated, active aerodynamics package. Future owners of this track-day special will receive substantial training before they are let loose in this frighteningly fast machine.

It's been a busy morning at the Ultimatecarpage.com office with new releases due at the Geneva Motor Show in a fortnight coming in left and right. The most potent of today's reveals is certainly the Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 Special Edition. Effectively a road-going version of Aston Martin's successful GT3 racer, it is powered by a 600hp V12 and comes equipped with a sizeable rear wing. If you are interested in the limited GT3 Special Edition, you better hurry as only 100 will be available.
Lotus will mark the company's return to Geneva with the Evora 400; the fastest ever Lotus production car. Powered by a supercharged V6, good for 400 bhp, it can reach a top speed of 300 km/h. Although considerably more powerful than its predecessor, the Evora 400 is actually a little lighter as well.
In Geneva, Daimler AG will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman with a preview of the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman. The new range-topping limousine has a wheelbase that is actually longer than the overall length of the Evora 400 and as a result has an abundance of interior space.
Pioneering the latest drivetrain technologies, nanoFlowcell will showcase this QUANTiNO. As the name suggests, it is a compact version of the Quant released a year ago.
Further concept cars on display at the Swiss show include the Kia Sportspace and the Lexus LF-SA.

Fifty years ago, the late, great Jim Clark had the most successful season in his career, which included a ground-breaking victory in the Indy 500 and a World Championship winning Formula 1 campaign. The 1965 season already started on a high, down under, with a successful effort in the popular Tasman Series and related races. To win the Series, Clark used the purpose-built Lotus 32B. This unique Climax-engined single seater was based on the Type 32 Formula 2 car and holds the distinction as being the only Lotus built specifically for Clark. Following a lengthy spell in Australia, the hugely successful Lotus 32B is today owned by Classic Team Lotus and regularly raced in historic events.
Nissan's imminent return to the sports prototype ranks prompted us to think back at one of the most successful of the Japanese manufacturer's prototype racers; the NPT-90. Like the new GT-R Nismo LM, the GTP racer introduced 25 years ago was developed in North America. Raced in the highly competitive IMSA GTP series, it won half a dozen races including the Sebring 12 Hours and also helped Geoff Brabham clinch the championship in 1991. Our 59-shot gallery includes images of three different examples, including the outright winner of the 1991 Sebring 12 Hours.
Today, Audi offered a first glimpse of the all-new R8 with a focus on the sports car's sophisticated laser headlights.
A set fixture at the Geneva Motor Show each year is the Rinspeed display with a brand new show car. The car due next month is the Budii, which is Rinspeed's take on the BMW i3.

At this week's Chicago Auto Show, Nissan not only revealed the highly unconventional GT-R LM Nismo Le Mans racer but also showcased the 370Z Nismo Roadster Concept. As the name suggests, the high performance machine is still a pre-production prototype but it would highly surprise us if the 350 bhp Nismo Roadster will not be available to customers shortly.
Among the other cars released in the windy city were the Kia Trail'Ster Concept and the Mitsubishi GC PHEV Concept.
Also in Chicago, Mercedes-AMG offered a first glimpse of the Mercedes-AMG GT3, which will be revealed at next month's Geneva Motor Show. Another new GT racer that broke cover this week is the Reiter Engineering developed KTM X-Bow GTR. Due to race in the GT4 category, it is the first fixed-head KTM X-Bow.
At Retromobile we were treated to this very rare Bugatti Type 50 Paul Nee Roadster. It features a body, which followed the 'standard' design by Jean Bugatti but not built by Gangloff as was normally the case but by little known French carrossier Paul Nee. Several years later, he also clothed this Bugatti Type 57. This Pillarless Coupe design was penned by Fernandez & Darrin and featured a large sliding roof and prominent chrome trim.

Among the many great cars on display at Retromobile last week were two Frua-bodied and V8-engined Maseratis. The rarest and least known of the pair was this 5 Litri Frua Prototipo. Launched at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show, it was the second of three one-offs created by Frua using the Mexico platform. Unlike the name suggests, the unique machine does share the 4.7-litre engine with the production Mexicos. In addition to Retromobile, we also captured the 5 Litri Frua Prototipo at last year's inaugural Chantilly Arts & Elegance concours d'elegance.
One of three built, this 5000 GT Frua Coupe was originally commissioned by the Aga Khan. The Frua-bodied 5000 GTs were easily recognisable by the unique location of the Maserati 'trident' in an additional vent above the grille. Among the subsequent owners of this particular example was actress Rita Hayworth, who previously had been married to the Aga Khan's father.
Over the weekend, BMW released the first images and details of the upcoming M6 GT3. Currently under development, the new GT racer will be powered by a version of the twin-turbo V8 restricted to around to 500 bhp to comply with the regulations.
At the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, Opel and Vauxhall will launch a pair of hot hatches dubbed the Corsa OPC and Corsa VXR respectively. The fastest ever Corsas, they will be powered by a turbocharged, 1.6-litre straight four engine good for just over 200 bhp.
Another car due at Geneva is the McLaren 675LT, which is a reference to the F1 GTR Longtail raced during the 1997 season. The 650S-based machine will be powered by a 666 bhp version of the proprietary twin-turbo V8.

This week, the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles hosted the 40th annual Retromobile show. One of the very best shows of its kind, Retromobile always attracts enthusiasts from all over the world. This is thanks to the event's unique charm that, despite some changes, has not been lost. Where else will you be able to see the world's only functioning King Tiger lined up alongside three Bugatti Royales? At this year's show, some of the special features included a display of Pegaso Z102s and a selection from the Lopresto Collection. In addition to the show, there were also three auctions in Paris during the week, from RM Auctions, Bonhams and Artcurial. The latter stole the show with the barn-find Baillon Collection. All lots were sold, often for many times the top estimate, and the sale was topped by the ex-Alain Delon 250 GT SWB California Spider, which set a new world record at EUR 16.3 million.
As always, we were in Paris to capture the event and the auctions. The result is this concise report illustrated by four galleries with a total of 450 shots!

We are deeply saddened to learn that American collector Doug Magnon has lost his fight with cancer. He is best known for founding the Riverside International Automotive Museum as a reminder of the great track in the Los Angeles area that is today covered by a shopping mall. Among the cars on display in the museum are five of local man Dan Gurney's Eagle racing cars. The most of famous of these is Magnon's own Eagle Mark 2 Ford. Chassis 201, this is the very first Eagle Indy racer and was virtually identical to the Eagle Formula 1 racer. Powered by a quad-cam Ford V8, it was driven by Gurney himself at Indy in 1966 but an opening lap accident ended his charge early. The car was raced for several more years but has since been restored to its debut configuration. Over the years, we have captured the Mark 2 Ford on both sides of the Atlantic with the late Magnon behind the wheel as can be seen in this 26-shot gallery.
After producing a three iterations of 275 GTB-based competition cars, Ferrari curtailed the customer GT racing program. That did not stop the Italian manufacturer's customers to continue to race the company's production Grand Tourers. To do so, they, led by Luigi Chinetti and his NART team, commissioned the development of a competition version of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The result was this Daytona Group 4, which were campaigned all over the world. Using lessons learned with these independently built Daytonas, Ferrari later sanctioned three batches of five 'official' Competiziones, which were built using many of the same components. In this action-packed 99-shot gallery, we have featured four of these privately developed Daytonas. The most exotic variation on this theme was the unique Daytona Group 4 NART Spyder, which boasted a unique body, specifically developed for the 1975 Le Mans. It was, however, withdrawn from the race due to a conflict between NART and the organisers.

The upcoming Geneva Motor Show promises to be a feast for those who love exciting automobiles, and who doesn't? One of the primary reasons will be the introduction of the all-new Ferrari 488 GTB. Replacing the 458 Italia, it also marks the fortieth anniversary of the 308 GTB, which explains the type name. While the styling is clearly derived from its predecessor, the engine used is new; a twin-turbocharged V8, good for 660 bhp. It is so powerful that it is equipped with a Variable Torque Management system. Sophisticated aerodynamics ensure that the 488 GTB sticks to the ground even better, which helped it post a very impressive 1'23" lap time at Fiorano.
Porsche, meanwhile, will introduce the Cayman GT4 in exactly four weeks time. This grown-up version of the Cayman features a 911 Carrera S derived engine, which produces 370 bhp. Further upgrades have also been made to the suspension to improve the already superb handling just a little more. Although the very appealing Cayman GT4 will not debut until Geneva, Porsche will already take your order.
At a special event yesterday, Ford previewed the third generation Focus RS. Powered by a 320+ bhp straight four engine, this is the first Focus RS equipped with all-wheel drive. This features sophisticated torque vectoring to ensure traction is at its maximum regardless of the conditions. Further details of this very hot hatchback will be announced in a month's time.

Following wild speculation during the last couple of months, Nissan revealed their GT-R LM Nismo in an ad during last night's Super Bowl. As it turns out, some of the wildest rumours are true; the new LMP1 racer features a front-mounted engine that drives only the front wheels. As they are not driven, the rear wheels/tyres are actually narrower than the ones up front. This has all sorts of aerodynamic advantages that might compensate for the lack of the all-wheel drive system used on the rivals. Nissan also announced that Spain's only Le Mans winner Marc Gene will be one of its drivers this year in its FIA World Endurance Championship campaign. You can see every angle of the highly unusual sports prototype racer in this 19-shot gallery. We have also added a pair of videos and will keep a close eye on this fascinating machine.
To put the new Nissan in perspective, we have also taken a look back at the Panoz Esperante GTR-1. Originally built for Panoz by Reynard in 1997, this was the first front-engined sports prototype to run at Le Mans for many years. Originally conceived as a GT1 car, it made a comeback several years later as a LM GTP machine. The featured example is the car that was campaigned as late as 2004. The very last front-engined car to win Le Mans, by the way, was the unique Ferrari 330 TRI LM, back in 1962!
Yesterday, Formula 1 has also shot back into action with the first official test of the season. Of the seven cars that took the track, the Ferrari SF15-T piloted by Sebastian Vettel was the fastest of all. With 157 laps, the new Mercedes-Benz W06 Hybrid was the most reliable and consistent of all cars. Certainly one of the most talked about was the Red Bull Racing RB11 Renault, which sported a very clever and particular striking camouflage livery to hide intricate details from the rivalling teams.
