With its unique, stretched body design, its highly flexible rear-seat arrangement, exceptional equipment package and its pioneering new technologies, the Opel Signum breaks through conventional segment barriers and opens an entirely new market.
The proportions are unusual: although the overall length of 4636 millimeters is only 40 mm more than the Vectra sedan, the 2830 mm wheelbase is a full 130 mm longer. The rear overhang is correspondingly short and the height only slightly greater. The new Opel Signum signals its unmistakable character through a specially designed front and reveals it fully in the side view of the body with four windows, the wraparound ends of the dome-shaped rear window and the broad C-pillar.
One of the highlights of the new Opel Signum is its innovative seating system. Thanks to the long wheelbase, the Signum provides the rear-seat space and comfort of a large luxury car. If they wish, the occupants of the two individual rear seats can slide them back by up to 130 millimeters and thus obtain the maximum possible legroom. The seat back can be inclined to an angle of 28 degrees and is then as comfortable, for example, as any business class aircraft seat. The three rear seats can also be folded forward to create a completely flat load surface. In this configuration the load carrying capacity is more than 1400 liters. With five seats load space amounts to as much as 480 liters, depending on the rear seat position.
