Page 1 of 1 This is the Honda RA301 as raced in the 1968 F1 season, it was powered by a 90 degrees 3 litre V12 engine that produced 420 bhp. This engine is a little smaller and lighter than the 1967 V12 but it was still too large and heavy. Honda was already working on a new car powered by a air-cooled V8 engine. Driver Surtees was not very succesfull, he only finished 3 times in the points, the best being a 2nd place in France, where ironically his teammate Jo Schlesser crashed in the new RA302 and died (Surtees didn't want to drive the RA302 because it wasn't ready yet).
