Page 1 of 1 This is the Lotus 41, as introduced in 1966. The 41 was the car that marked a determined fight to return back into the F3 series. The 41 was powered by a Cosworth MAE engine that was inclined 30 degrees. Lotus reverted to a spaceframe chassis again, the car it succeeded, the 35 had a monocoque chassis. The spaceframe was stiffened with sheet metal diaphragms (foot box, dashboard, rear of cockpit, gearbox area) and undertray. The 41 broke the dominance of Brabham. The 41 was above all a customer car, Lotus planned to build 34, but finally 61 were built. The F2 version was called 41B and powered by a FVA engine. The 41 was used in various classes from 1966 to 1968, scoring a total of 55 victories. Page 1 of 1
