Page 1 of 1 Renault's entrance in F1 changed the outlook of the sport like few others had done before. It all started with this prototype designed by Andre Cortanze. Combining parts from Alpine's F3 racers and A442 Le Mans racers, the first Turbocharged F1 car was born.
Although tested extensively on many French tracks and the South African Jarama track, it was never raced. The Turbocharged V6 engine made its racing debut in the back of the Renault RS01 in 1977, effectively starting the Turbo-era. WM Page 1 of 1
