Page 1 of 1 The resurrected Tiga Race Cars ltd. gained new momentum in the summer of 2013, when the company was acquired by gentleman racer Mike Newton. At the same time, the company also bought the designs of the WFR prototypes. These included a tube-framed CN2 car but also the LMP2 cars first raced as an Embassy back in 2008. A plan was quickly devised to update the Peter Elleray design and bring Tiga back to Le Mans in 2014.
Now dubbed the Tiga LM214, the 'new' LMP2 racer features the same carbon-fibre composite monocoque chassis as the original design. Changes to the body were required to bring the car up to the current cost-capped LMP2 regulations. Among the changes are the addition of the fin on the engine cover as well as the mandatory holes on the front and rear fenders. Working in partnership with Engine Developments, the first LM214 will be fitted with mounts for the BMW-based Judd HK V8 engine.
Among the services available for future Tiga customers is the sophisticated race car simulator, which will allow 'driver in the loop' evaluations of different configurations. Page 1 of 1
