Page 1 of 1 Leading British privateer team Strakka Racing and Japanese manufacturer Dome have teamed up to produce the all-new S103 LMP2 racing car. Originally designed by Dome in Japan, the car will be further developed and built at Strakka Racing's base in England. Strakka Racing themselves plan to race two examples in the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship while customer cars will also be available.
Built to the latest LMP2 regulations, the Strakka Dome S103 features a slightly taller roof than first generation of cost-capped LMP2 cars. This is the result of a slight change in the roll-over structure regulations. Strakka's own S103s will be powered by the Nissan V8 engine developed by Nismo and Zytek. The most successful LMP2 engine will be mated to a Ricardo six-speed gearbox, which will be equipped with Zytek's own paddle shift system.
Following the announcement of the partnership in November of 2013, Strakka Racing and Dome will have their work cut out to develop, build and test the car in time for the opening round of the 2014 FIA WEC. It was rolled out for the first time late in March, just in time for the official WEC test at Paul Ricard. Page 1 of 1
