Page 1 of 1 This is the Mercedes-Benz C111, as built in 1969. It was fitted with a rotary engine with 3 combustion chambers. Mercedes-Benz built various concepts fitted with rotary engines in the 60's and 70's. Rotary engines were not the most fuel efficient engines and the rotary boom was cut short because of the fuel crises in the 70's. After this C111 Mercedes-Benz also built a C111 fitted with a 4 rotor engine that produced over 400bhp. A total of 16 C111's were built, including both the three and four rotor cars. Page 1 of 1
