Page 1 of 1 Starting with a clean sheet in response to the most comprehensive regulation change in many years, Red Bull Racing created the RB22 for the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship. The new rules cater for smaller and lighter cars, without ground-effect aerodynamics and a simplified power unit with a single hybrid element.
The RB22 broke cover ahead of the first of two official tests. It is powered by an all-new drivetrain developed jointly by Red Bull Powertrains and Ford Motorsport. As before, the internal combustion engine is a 1.6-litre V6 engine fitted with a single turbocharger. This is equipped with a simplified hybrid system that is designed to produced 50% of total output of the power unit. To ensure the cars do not run out of power down the straights, the 2026 cars also feature active aerodynamics.
Red Bull Racing team leader Max Verstappen will be joined behind the wheel of the RB22 by Isack Hadjar, who joined the team following a successful rookie season with the Racing Bulls sister team. Page 1 of 1
