Chassis:
Chassis 488 was built in January of 1988 as the World Sportscar Championship car for Jan Lammers and Johnny Dumfries. They finished second in the first two races and fifth in the next. For the 24 Hours of Le Mans the two regular drivers were joined by Andy Wallace. With a gearbox on the verge of destruction, Lammers nursed XJR-9 488 home to take Jaguar's first win at Le Mans since 1957. The winning chassis was immediately retired from racing. Today the highly original machine is part of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust collection and regularly displayed and demonstrated at events around the world.
