Chassis 0004 was the fourth and final LC1 chassis produced for Lancia by Dallara. It debuted during the Spa round where it retired after starting fourth. There was more success in the Mugello 1000 km with Piercarlo Ghinzani and Michele Alboreto taking the outright win from second on the grid. It was subsequently placed on pole for the Fuji round but no more finishes were recorded. Following its brief spell as a coupe, the car was rebuilt to its original configuration by the factory and sold to Regis Fraissinet. It eventually passed into the hands of Belgian privateer racer and collector Jean Blaton. He offered the car during the February 2005 Artcurial auction.
