Chassis:
This was the first of two Cooper T61Ms delivered to Carroll Shelby during 1963. Rebuilt to King Cobra specification, it was raced by Dave MacDonald later that year. He used it to score the victory in the Riverside Grand Prix. MacDonald also drove it to victory at Augusta early in 1964 before it was replaced by the new works cars. Chassis CM/1/63 was sold to Charlie Cox, who scored several victories in SCCA races. Restored to its Shelby works livery and specification, the Riverside winning car is today regularly raced and shown by its current, American owner.
