Chassis:
The very last Series 1 400 Superamerica built, chassis 3747SA was sold new to an American customer through Luigi Chinetti. Originally painted blue, the car changed colours about as many times as it changed hands. Following a two-decade intermission in Germany, the car returned to the United States when it was acquired by its current custodian in 2001. He had the 400 Superamerica meticulously restored to its original 'blu sera' and has since 2003 regularly shown it at various events. At one of its most recent outings, it is seen here at the 2012 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este where designer Aldo Brovarone inspected one of his many fantastic creations. Despite having been extensively driven for most of the ten years since its restoration, the lovely Ferrari was awarded best in class.
