Chassis:
Of the estimated 300 Travelers built in 1910, this is believed to be one of only two survivors. It was acquired new by Pennsylvania businessman and great Underslung enthusiast F.C. Deemer; this was his fourth example. When he passed away in 1959, he still owned all four. Following a lengthy process, Walter Seeley managed to acquire this example. In return he restored the other three for Deemer's sons. He then spent another 17 years to restored his own car.
Seeley eventually decided to part with his labour of love and sold it to the Haines family. The Traveler was in very good company; the Haines family at the time owned two of the other ex-Deemer Underlungs and a further three other examples. In 2005, it returned to Pennsylvania to join the ever expanding collection of the late John W. Rich. It is seen here during the 2006 Palm Beach Concours d'Elegance. Today, it is on permanent display in the JWR Automotive Museum in Frackville, PA.
