Chassis:
The standard BMW 328 Roadster was a very spartan car. For customers who wanted to combine the performance of the 328 with more luxurious upholstery, BMW offered the car as a rolling chassis. A popular coach-builder for the custom 328s was Wendler. A great example of their work is the featured chassis 85419. It is still easily recognizable as a BMW 328, yet features a fully appointed interior and a proper convertible roof.
Beautifully restored, it is seen here at the 2009 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
