Chassis:
The early history of this, the seventeenth 911 R produced, is not known. In 1968, it was sold to California but it was not raced. In the following years, it changed hands several times and after passing through Puerto Rico, it ended up in Mexico. In derelict condition, it was eventually retrieved to the United States and restored by Moorespeed in 1995. Chassis 11899017R was subsequently campaigned in a historic events. Now part of an American Porsche collection, it is seen here during the 2013 Carmel Concours on the Avenue.
