Chassis: 0532LM
This is the first of three new 121 LMs built for the 1955 season. Entered by Scuderia Ferrari, it was driven to third in the Mille Miglia by Umberto Maglioli. Eugenio Castellotti used it next to set the fastest time in the Le Mans trials. In the race the engine of 0532LM lasted just 5 of the 24 hours. At the end of the year, it was sold to the United States, where it was raced with limited success, amazingly well into the 1960s. It remained in North America after its active career, until it was recently acquired by its current owner. It is pictured here during the 2007 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
