Ecurie Filipinetti fielded this T290 for Lola's European representative Jo Bonnier in the 1972 European Championship. Bonnier started off on a high with a victory in the first heat at Paul Ricard. Sadly, the program had to be abandoned after Bonnier's fatal accident at Le Mans. His place was taken by Vic Elford, who campaigned the car at several rounds, finishing second at Enna. For 1973, chassis HU02 was updated to T292 specification by Heini Mader and raced by Fritz and Herbert Jerich. Later in the decade, it received T296 bodywork and a BMW engine, and remained active in the Interserie championship until 1983. Passing through various hands, it was eventually acquired by Wolfgang Matthai, who extensively raced the car in historic events. In more recent years, it was restored to its original configuration. From 2009, it has been raced in select events by Isla Racing.
