Chassis:
Probably the very last Lola T290 produced, this chassis was sold new to Mike Rahal through Lola's North American representative Carl Haas. During the 1973 and 1974 seasons, it was raced by Mike and his son, future Indy 500 winner, Bobby Rahal. The latter used the car in 1974 to win his very first championship. Chassis HU34 was later sold to Canadian Dave Johnson, who campaigned it in the Can-Am championship. It later passed to his compatriot Roman Pechman, who continued to race the car until 1986. Around 2000, it was bought back by Bobby Rahal, who had it completely restored for historic racing. After campaigning it in select events, he has since sold to another American historic racer.
