Chassis:
Pressed into service for the final Grands Prix of the 1997 season, chassis 178 was driven to victory in Japan by Michael Schumacher. The German famously also used this car to drive rival Jacques Villeneuve off the road in the final Grand Prix of the year. The desperate attempt to clinch the world championship was one of the most controversial of his illustrious career. Rendered obsolete at the end of the year, chassis 172 was sold by Ferrari to an Australian enthusiast before the end of the decade. In more recent years, it was acquired by Cars International and demonstrated by Paul Osborn at Goodwood and Monaco.
