Chassis 47193 was a competition specification Delahaye 135 was ordered new by the French racing driver Pierre Louis-Dreyfus, better known as 'Helde.' He raced the car the car in 1937, finishing third at Le Mans. Shortly after the car was sold to Ecurie Schell. The third owner was Marcel Contet, who had the body modified by Desplates. Contet extensively campaigned the car in 1939 in France. The racing car survived the War and subsequently changed hands many times until it was acquired by the current owner in 1998. Still in its modified 'Desplates' condition, it is seen here at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where Delahaye was the featured marque.
