Chassis:
Emerson Fittipaldi used this M23 during the second half of the 1974 season, placing second at Silverstone and Monza, and scoring a victory in the Canadian Grand Prix at Mosport. During the 1975 season, it was used by Jochen Mass, who raced it to his sole Grand Prix victory, in the Spanish Grand Prix held at Montjuich Park in Barcelona. Following an accident at Zandvoort, this chassis was set aside. The car's identity was then applied to the tenth M23 built, which was then campaigned as M23-8. The remains of the original M23 were eventually restored and the car is today by an avid historic racer, who coincidentally comes from Barcelona.
