Chassis:
One of just three left-hand-drive 250 LMs built, chassis 5903 was sold new to Irene Gaessly, who lived in Rome, Italy. In her ownership, it was raced extensively in Italy by Sergio Bettoja and others. In August of 1965, Mario Casoni famously beat the AC Shelby Cobra Daytonas with this 250 LM in the final World Championship race of the season. The car's contemporary racing career lasted until the fall of 1968. It was soon after acquired by Tom Meade, who exported it North America. Among the subsequent owners were noted collectors like Paul Pappalardo and Brandon Wang. The current custodian, a prominent American collector and historic racer, bought it in 1998. Following a meticulous restoration, it was raced with great verve at the 2012 Monterey Motorsport Reunion.
