Completed nearly a year after the penultimate 250 LM, this, the final car built, was sold to Scuderia Filipinetti in June of 1966. After just a single outing for the Swiss team, it was acquired by David Piper and repainted in the striking green livery of his long time sponsor BP. Piper campaigned the car in contemporary events with considerable success until 1968 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans where he finished 7th overall co-driving with Richard Attwood. He has retained the car ever since, regularly competing in historic races since the 1980s.
